Christian & Annie at Olliver Photography are our newest recommended photographers at Kinkell. What better way to introduce them to our lovely couples than a few questions about them! Christian & Annie will bring in a new perspective to photography for you and are looking forward to working with Kinkell couples in the future.

Story behind Olliver Photography?

We are Annie & Christian also known as Olliver Photography.  We’ve been shooting reportage, documentary style weddings in London and the rest of the UK for 13 years.  We are now based between London and Scotland. Sharing a love for photography, we wanted to start a business that allowed us to work together creatively and follow our passion.  13 years, 5 babies and 1 puppy later we’re still going strong!

What do you love about photographing weddings?

An obsession with little details and understanding how natural light can lift a subject from something ordinary to something beautiful….

We draw on many influences but we are mostly inspired by the couple themselves and what is important to them, as well as the setting.  At an urban location in London, we are inspired by the local architecture, vibrancy of the people and those details that make a place special. The brickwork, street art or a canal, perhaps.  Further afield, at a chateaux wedding, we are inspired by the rolling landscape, fields of sunflowers as far as the eye can see, the stone of the chateaux, sunlit lemon trees, and shafts of light hitting tile flooring.  A sense of place helps to frame the whole experience of the day.

What are you most looking forward to about photographing a wedding at Kinkell?

I think one of the best things about Kinkell, apart from it’s beautiful setting of course, is the way couples can really make it their own and show their own personality as the venue is such a gorgeous blank canvas.  We are looking forward to seeing our couples’ personalities and interests reflected in their wedding day and capturing those tiny details.

What services do you offer your couples?

We offer a bespoke package for our couples depending on their requirements. From full day coverage from preparations through to party time or a shorter package for smaller more intimate weddings.  We are super flexible and happy to discuss any requirements that out couples may have.

We recently decided to change up our package for the coming season to offer an engagement shoot for every new couple. We’d noticed the huge benefit to couples who had already had a shoot as an ‘extra’ with us, who felt much more relaxed on the day which showed through their images. They are a great opportunity to get some practice in front of the camera and feel at ease on your wedding day. No daunting photography nerves at all! An engagement shoot also provides you with some gorgeous images as a record of this special time to look back on. Think a summery stroll down the coastal path, a wander through your local bustly market or a wintry walk in the park with a coffee.

Any personal advice you would give to couples when choosing their photographer?

There are so many great photographers out there to choose from which can be overwhelming but we would say the single most important thing is that you get to enjoy your day.  For us that means choosing a photographer who understands that you and your guests do not want to be posing all day long.  You want someone who can be discreet, efficient and capture beautiful images at a distance, allowing you to mingle with your guests and be present in all the amazingness that you have planned!

How do couples book and what is your process?

We like to have an initial chat through the day with our couples first so that they can ask any questions that they have and we can think together about a skeleton plan for the day.  Then when they are ready to go ahead, we would prepare a booking pack with a timeline, paperwork and deposit information etc.  We are then available to chat and answer questions as often as needed in the run up to the day with a full consultation either over zoom or in person a couple of weeks prior where we iron out all the timings and generally get excited!

After the day, images go into post-production, edited individually and fall on your doorstep 4 weeks after your day!
